Emmanuel Baptist Church of Norfolk, Massachusetts is looking for qualified candidates for its open Associate Pastor position.

 

CHURCH DESCRIPTION

Emmanuel Baptist Church of Norfolk, Massachusetts is a member of Converge and Converge Northeast. Emmanuel is a small, but vibrant congregation located in a bedroom community about 35 miles southeast of Boston with 130,000 people within a ten minute drive of the church. Emmanuel is deeply committed to developing worshipers of Christ, feeding the soul and going to the world. We are seeking life change through the preaching of the Word in the power of the Spirit. We want to see transformed lives that engage and affect their community and the world for Christ.

 

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Reporting directly to the Lead Pastor, the Associate Pastor will oversee all aspects of worship and the youth ministry at Emmanuel and will have the following primary responsibilities:

  • Leading weekly worship services with guitar or piano
  • Leading youth and family ministry
  • Developing the ministry of discipleship among the next generation
  • Establishing affective outreach opportunities for youth
  • Caring for and being support for the parents of youth

 

REQUIRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE

The successful candidate will have a history that includes:

  • Experienced worship leader with guitar or piano
  • Successful experience in youth and family ministry
  • Known preaching and teaching abilities
  • Proven communication skills
  • Past ministry experience
  • Gifts of an overseer; ability to direct and minister through others
  • Ability to creatively oversee the ministry
  • Verbal and written communication skills
  • Administration and organization

 

EDUCATION

  • Master of Divinity or equivalent degree required from an accredited institution
  • Is ordained or ordainable

  • Professional, forthright, courteous, cordial; positive outlook and upbeat
  • Organized, structured work approach coupled with good time management skills
  • Personal and emotional maturity
