Through clear teaching and practical insights, he helps readers move from confusion and doubt to confidence in God’s gracious governance, teaching us to grow through adversity, choose trust, and cultivate gratitude—even when life simply hurts.

John MacArthur’s study on the book of Acts walks readers through the early history of the church, highlighting the power of the Holy Spirit, the bold preaching of the apostles, and the unstoppable spread of the gospel. He emphasizes how Acts records the fulfillment of Christ’s promise to build His church, showing the transition from a small group of believers in Jerusalem to a worldwide movement reaching Jews and Gentiles alike. Through clear explanations and practical application, MacArthur helps readers see how the courage and faith of the early church serve as a model for believers today to live boldly and faithfully for Christ.

Thursday Bible Study for Everyone

Bible Study Material: "Why does it have to Hurt? by Dan McCartney" & " The Power of Suffering by John MacArthur".
Starting Thursday, September 11th, 2025
Meeting Two Thursday each month
Fellowship Hall | 2:00PM - 3:30PM
Thursday Bible Study: For this Bible study, we will be drawing from two insightful books that help us understand the reality of suffering in the Christian life. In The Power of Suffering by John MacArthur, we are reminded that trials are not wasted but are divinely used to strengthen our faith, deepen our dependence on Christ, and display God’s glory in our weakness. Complementing this, Dan McCartney’s Why Does It Have to Hurt? takes a more practical and pastoral approach, wrestling with the emotional and spiritual struggles that suffering brings, while pointing us to God’s purpose, presence, and promises in the midst of pain. Together, these books provide both theological depth and compassionate guidance, equipping us to face suffering with faith, hope, and endurance.
