We believe that God loves children and calls the church to treat them as one of their greatest treasures. Rather than isolating children in a quiet corner, we want to love them and include them as members of our church family.
All volunteers who serve in our children's ministries have received training on abuse prevention and have cleared EBC's background check guidelines.

Junior Church has started back up and is meeting inside for now. Weather depending sometimes Sunday school may be moved outside. Junior Church is for children ages 3 and up and meets during the sermon time.
Sunday School videos for children are being distributed weekly for use at home in place of in-person Sunday School. Email the Discipleship Board or contact Amy Beth for more information.
There is no other childcare at this time, but children are welcome in the main worship service. EBC is meeting inside and is following the state guidelines for social distancing and face coverings.
Bible Resources for Kids
For Use at Home
Children's Bulletins & Junior Church Materials
Each week, children's bulletins and junior church materials are uploaded to the church website. To find these resources, go to the Church Online menu and select Sunday Worship.
Resources for Kids & Youth, Parents & Other Adults
This is a listing of numerous online Christian resources sorted by age and topic, with the majority of resources focused on children and youth. There are videos with Bible stories, messages, and worship songs, along with devotionals, missions resources, and more.
7-Day Prayer Guide for Kids & Families
This resource from Focus on the Family goes through "PRAY" - Praise God, Recognize His Gifts, Ask God for Forgiveness, and Your Requests. Each day adapts this for a different topic: your own walk with God, your family, your friends, your church, your school, your nation, and the world.
Resources from Group
Above is a link to free children's & youth resources below from Group Publishing. There are video lessons and activity ideas and pages you can print out, along with devotionals for teens. There are resources for how Jesus's power helps us overcome fear and for many Bible stories and lessons. No login required.
Resources from LifeWay
LifeWay Christian Resources also provides lessons for children - see link above. You need to create a free account, and then you can click Kids at Home or Preschool at Home. The children's and youth Sunday School classes at EBC have been working through materials from LifeWay, so some things may be familiar for those who have come in the past.
Kids' Bible App
Samaritan's Purse has created a free Bible app for kids based on the discipleship course offered to children who receive shoeboxes through Operation Christmas Child. The Greatest Journey app teaches Bible lessons and memory verses and is geared toward kids ages 5-9. To download the app or view a trailer for it, click the link above.
The following ministries are currently on hold due to COVID-19.
- Nursery & Toddlers
We provide a nursery for children 0-2 upstairs in our Christian Education building (the only staircase that leads up from the main level). We also have a class for children ages 2-4 downstairs in the Christian Education building. When you bring your children for the first time, please be sure to fill out the registration form so we have necessary emergency and contact information.
- Kids in Worship & Junior Church
Children over the age of four are encouraged to participate in the first portion of our worship service until they are dismissed for Junior Church. We understand that kids get wiggly and sometimes loud - that's absolutely okay! Children are a blessing, not an inconvenience. If you are used to your kids having a separate service, this may be an adjustment, but we trust you'll be surprised how much they are able to retain.
- Christian Education (Sunday School)
The Holy Bible is simple enough for a child to read and deep enough for the most mature adult to continue exploring. We provide Christian Education classes for children from the nursery all the way up through adulthood. Most classes combine two grades (Grades 1&2, Grades 3&4, etc.). Classes are clearly labeled on the doors outside each classroom. The only classes that take place outside of the main building are the two high school classes, which meet upstairs in the office building (the white house out front of the church). Sunday School meets weekly, 11am-12pm, following the main worship service at 9:30am and a brief fellowship time.
Beyond Sunday Mornings...
Awana is an international ministry hosted by churches around the world. EBC is pleased to offer Awana to families in our community for kids ages 3-grade 6. There are age-appropriate groups for toddlers, younger elementary kids, and older elementary kids. The night is built around three components: Game Time, Large Group Time (with a lesson for your group), and Handbook Time (where you review your Bible memory verses with a leader in your small group). Awana follows the school calendar and meets on Wednesday nights at EBC from 6:30-8:00. Click Awana to learn more about Awana at EBC.
Vacation Bible School is a free, week-long, Bible-themed summer camp that EBC runs for children in our community. Please see VBS 2021!
